You’ve not heard much about Matilda, the musical for which Tim is writing the music and lyrics, have you? Well allow me to furnish you with some details.
The musical will run from 9th November 2010 to 30th January 2011 at The Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, with previews between the 9th and 13th November. Audio-described performances, for the vision impaired, are on the 11th and 29th January and captioned performances for the hard of hearing are on the 15th and 21st January. A comprehensive list of performance dates and times can be found here.
Tickets will be available to buy from 21st April (put it in your diaries so that you don’t forget), priced between £8 and £56 depending on what day you see it, and which seats you book. More details, including individual band prices, can be found here.
You know you’re really looking forward to it and, well, if you don’t, why not? It’s going to be ace!

I loved Matilda (have seen it twice) and can’t stop singing the songs- although don’t really know the lyrics, so do you know where I can find them?
We have the record and have the songs in our heads anyway!!

Please tell me what price the tickets are. Is it suitable for a 10/11 year old girl and 7 year old boy? We live in Birmingham, but they live in London.

Matilda is brilliant – Tim you should be really pleased. “My Mummy Says I’m a Miracle” and “I’m going to be a ballerina” have been ringing round the family kitchen ever since and is now my llittle granddaughter’s standfard response to every inquiry. “Revolting kids for revolting times” had the adults falling off their seats laughing. THERE HAS TO BE A CD – please!

It is just TRUNCHBALLTASTIC !!!!!!! love it ,love it, love it….please, please release a CD of the tracks….my children sing “My mummy says I’m a miracle” all of the time and it would be great if they could vary the words!!

Come to Brighton UK!!! It will sell out. Let me know when you are coming. xxx Libby (ex-WACAE / ECU Mt Lawley) and Gra (ex-Christchurch Grammar School). Well, seemed mildly interesting to us, being that we might share the Germaine-reviewing-the-skippy-special feeling about Perf/Australia as a bit worth not living in (fulltime at least). QUICK – make sure Tim sees the skippy special on the BBC Iplayer before it comes down.
Fecking hilarious!!!

Is it touring the UK? London perhaps? Or Brighton? It sounds fantastic. How can it not be when Tim is using his brilliance to make one of the greatest books ever written into a live masterpiece. Fantasmagorical!

If Tim wrote it I’m sure I will end up going because my big sisters are massive fans of Tim. I am so thrilled that Tim has chosen to write the music and lyrics, Matilda is one of my favourite childhood books.

With any luck I’ll be in Europe at that time and lord knows I’ll be making a second day-long trip to England for this. The first will be for Harry Potter. With Harry Potter and Matilda, England will be representing the most important aspects of my childhood. Cannot wait.
