TweetTim’s headlining the Stand Up For Shelter comedy night at the Hammersmith Apollo, London on the 27th February 2013.
There’s a fabulous line up joining him including Alistair McGowan, Stewart Francis, Sara Pascoe and musical performers The Cuban Brothers plus more to be announced.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday 16th November, at 9am and will be available here.
UPDATE Fri 16/11 09:22: Some are reporting that the above link via the Shelter website does not work on some mobile phones so try the Hammersmith Apollo site here if that is an issue.
They are priced at £30 with a limited number of VIP tickets at £50. There’s a competition to win two VIP tickets via the same link.
Tim says: “I’m delighted to be part of this show for Shelter, a brilliant charity which steps in really quickly to help struggling families with no home. The line up is great and different and hilarious and it’s going to be a fantastic night of comedy and awesome fun. Come! Bring friends.”
Shelter is a UK charity that works hard with people affected by homelessness and bad housing conditions. They give advice, information and advocacy and campaign for lasting political change in an effort to end the housing crisis for good. They have a Christmas Emergency appeal running at the moment to try to help the thousands of children spending Christmas without a home or decent living conditions. Went to the Shelter gig on the 27th Feb with my girlfriend (who’s recovering from an operation and laughing hard is the last thing she wanted to be doing, which ironically I found funny), utterly brilliant. Saw Tim last year at the Apollo with Brian Cox, and really wanted to see this to fill a gaping hole in my life! Wasn’t disappointed – it’s good to see a very, very intelligent bloke putting his talents into a worthy cause, ie comedy. Genius. :)

So excited!!! And such a good cause, I recommend Shelter all the time at work and they give great advice. Thumbs up, Tim!

Wish Tim did a weekend gig, then I could actually see it. =(
Nice to see some charity work! (Not that it’s unexpected from Mr. Minchin)

VIP for JCS just got you a programme (£10-worth) + unnecessary fast-track entry, for which you had to register early! Now, if it got you drinks with the performers that would be something else;). But don’t hold your breath. Could it be just the best of the seats?

Hi Fergus,
I have updated the post with a direct link to tickets on the Hammersmith Apollo website as there seems to be a problem with the Shelter webpage ticket link, on mobile phones at least. I’m afraid there is no additional information, at this point, on what the VIP ticket buys you – I would have liked to specify above.

Is it me or is the website not actually showing any tickets for sale? Also, what difference is there between standard and VIP?
