Jesus Christ Superstar starts touring Australian arenas this week!

The Jesus Christ Superstar Australian Arena Tour kicks off this Friday, in Perth! Tim and the rest of the cast, musicians and crew were reunited and started rehearsals yesterday.
A great many of the shows are now sold out but you can still pick up tickets for: the Perth matinee on the 2nd June; both the matinee and evening shows in Sydney on the 9th June; Melbourne matinee and evening shows 14th-16th June and for the final show of the tour Brisbane on the evening of the 18th June.

Just in case you’ve missed the earlier announcements: Tim’s reprising his award-winning performance as Judas Iscariot for the Australian arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, while Melanie C and Ben Forster will also be returning in their roles from the UK production as Mary Magdalene and Jesus.
Deal or No Deal host Andrew O’Keefe will play King Herod and Jon Stevens, who appeared as Judas Iscariot in the 1992 Australian arena tour of the show is taking on the role of Pontius Pilate.

I’ve seen Tim a few times now. Never disappoints. Not seen Superstar yet but hoping to. Genius gets bandied about these days. Not in the case of Tim. Superb

I saw JCS last night in Brisbane. Wow. I knew you would be good, but the whole show exceeded expectations. My favourite moment was when the cast were taking their bows, as the applause and cheers hit you, it seemed for a split second that the response of the audience caught you by surprise and a delighted smile slipped out. Thoroughly enjoyed JC Superstar in Adelaide. Fantastic production! Took me through a range of emotions. Tim’s vocals were amazing. The entire cast were impressive with their talent, energy and commitment to their roles. Wow! More events like these in Australia pls!!

We’re just back from the first Sydney performance and what a wonderful, wonderful night. So proud of you Tim – your Judas was outstanding and powerful. We loved being there, along with a very appreciative audience. This is a stunning production and well worth every cent. Now I just wish we were going back again tomorrow night! All the best for the rest of the tour and try not to wear yourself out. It must need such an energy charge to do what you do – you’re one in a million, that’s for sure!

Saw JCS in Adelaide for the 3rd time – initially skeptical about the concept. Well there are no words to describe how incredibly awesome this was and how much of an impact it had on me. Very clever to wind this story into our lives today. I experienced emotions from joy to tears and such sorrow for Jesus the man that I hadn’t experienced before. The main actors were brilliant especially Tim who dominated the show and then such a human performance of Jesus. Well done comes no where near what I want to say to you.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic – Tim you are truly a star – the cast was fantastic – a great West Australian has done us proud – congrats on the concert and you all deserved the standing ovation. Tim what can I say – remarkable modern day version of JC Superstar. As for Andrew O’Keefe – yes he did steel the show for the couple of minutes but Tim you were the star.

Hi Tim What can I say? Your performance as Judas is totally awesome. Love it and love it so much my husband and I saw the show on both Friday and Saturday nights here in your home town of Perth. The standing ovations were deifinitely well deserved by you and all the cast. Hope the rest of the Oz tour goes just as well for you. Just know it will !!

Saw the show opening night in Perth. I loved it! Tim and the whole cast were amazing. The music and performances left me in awe and in tears! Thank you for a great night. Just wish I could see it again. It’s a show I will never forget.

Went last night and was extremely impressed :) Was amazing and Tim was brilliant!! :) Was incredible to see him performing in such a huge venue to so many people. He certainly stole the show!! :)

this man enchants me. he clearly expresses everything i think and feel about the acting profession. makes me proud to be an actor. and i agree with everything he says about JCS. it’s a work unlike any other and stands the test of time, as i knew it would when i first heard it in the 70s. thanks, tim, for everything you do. hope the tour is glorious . . .
