TweetStudio 360 is an American public radio programme about the arts and culture hosted by novelist Kurt Andersen. On the weekend of the Tony Awards Kurt meets some of this year’s Broadway stars, including Tom Hanks, and talks to Tim about writing the music and lyrics for Matilda The Musical which has TWELVE Tony nominations! Tim also takes his place at a grand piano to perform a few songs from the show.
You can listen to Tim’s segment right now, if you like, by streaming or downloading the podcast here.
There’s also this lovely video of Tim performing “When I Grow Up” at the shiniest piano in the world!
If you’d like to catch the whole show, the New York air times are listed below but you can hear the programme all around the US – visit Studio 360’s website for more info about local airings. It’s distributed internationally by PRI (Public Radio International) and WNYC in New York City and you can stream or download the whole programme here.

Saturday 8th June at 4pm on WNYC FM (93.9)

Must apologize for an error in my first comment. Mr. Minchin, I mistakenly referred to you as British. My bad. I was going by the information IMDB (Movie Data Base), They report you were born in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England, UK Going thru your videos, on “Taxicabs” you state you were born in Perth. Aussie or Brit, I still think you are Absolutely Fabulous!
