Last month, on a flying visit to Melbourne, Tim attended the launch of the world première DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition, at The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). He’s currently working on ‘Larrikins’, a Dreamworks animated feature, which tells the story of a little bilby who finds himself launched on a musical adventure across the mystical and untamed Australian outback.
In case you missed it in the Aus press, we thought you might like to see a couple of photos and a little video footage from the event.
Evidently Alex the Lion was delighted to embrace a kindred spirit, so clearly willing to have an eyeball and tooth-off. Tim won by a whisker:
In a more relaxed pose below with Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO and co-founder of DreamWorks Animation and Bill Damaschke, the Chief Creative Officer of DreamWorks Animation… and erm Kung Fu Panda:
ACMI’s largest ever exhibition, features over 400 items, allowing a fascinating glimpse into the creative journey of a DreamWorks Animation film from the earliest of ideas sketched on a Post-It note, right through to the final extraordinary characters and magical films. The exhibition includes concept drawings, interviews, models, original artworks, storyboards, interactive animation software and even creative reconstructions of DreamWorks’ real-life workspaces. More information can be found here.
Tim can be spotted (at about 00:58) in this video footage of the Kids’ Gala, saying a few words before almost being entrusted with some large plastic scissors to cut the ribbon opening the exhibition:
DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition is open until Sunday 5th October, 2014, at ACMI in Melbourne before embarking on an international tour.

It was so good to see this in Melbourne – seemed a happy occasion! So, you returned to Melbourne as superstar, writer, composer, director! Also saw lots of other footage so learnt lots more about Dreamworks. Exciting, huh!
