See below for the lyrics and the tracklist.
Tim: “The title track of my album, ‘Apart Together’ was going to be called “Wedding Dance”, because in my head, that’s what it is. When that insanely lovely Mat Jodrell trumpet eases in, I always picture couples dancing. I mean, let’s be honest, you’d have to be a little bit of a weirdo to actually have it as your wedding dance, but if I’ve learned one thing from my years of making stuff, it’s this: there are always weirdos. And they are always my kinda people.”

On the way to a show
Heard the story of an elderly couple
Found dead in their mobile home
They’d been there a month they say
Seemed to be no decay
I guess the upside of freezing to death
Is that you tend to stay that way
Locked in each other’s arms
Eyes closed and faces calm
They may have lain there ‘til spring
If it weren’t for the ping of their smoke alarm
God sure works in mysterious ways
Died of power bills left unpaid
Found by a neighbour who heard the ping
Dropped around offering
Double As
I think this could last forever
Girl let’s fall apart together
I can handle the entropy
If you promise to stay with me
I give you my heart knowing things fall apart
Praying you will decay with me
Locked in each other’s arms
Eyes closed and faces calm
In the morning a new life will dawn
So maybe don’t set the alarm
Baby I think this could last forever
Girl let’s fall apart together
Girl let’s fall apart together

I have been fond of your work for a long time (many years ago, many giggles, much laugh….)
Recently I have been on a stationary, solitary musical journey and found you again. The newer songs are captivating. When you sing…it seems so real. You’re so very talented…and I think you are really nice.

Although an accomplished pianist, it is your lyrics that touch so deeply
Having listened to the whole album twice, I have ordered a copy for my son…in the hope of convincing him of your word-smithing and genius brain
Thank you for an amazing listen

This album is incredible. Having followed Tim for years, knowing he was a fantastic lyricist and player, the fact that I love this album already comes as no surprise. But honestly, this is the best album I’ve heard this year, and boy is it needed. Musically and lyrically gorgeous from start to finish. Thank you Tim.

I just listened to apart together for the first time and it’s indescribable but deeply touching. Thank you for making a 70+ year old gal alive.

Though having just watched the rather beautiful rendition of ‘Moment of Bliss’ on Instagram it too would make a rather special first dance song.
Looking forward to hearing the album in it’s entirety. Have just listened to all 3 singles together and they compliment each other so nicely, I am more excited than ever to hear them nestled in amongst all the other tracks on the album!

Hi!
I’ve been waiting for this Album since I saw “Back” in april 2019. Since then, that concert has been my “happy place” to think back to, given the current situation.
I pre-ordered the #3 clear vinyl set – is there any chance at all that it would be possible to have it autographed. Regardles, I have been waiting for a TIm Minchin vinyl for so many years, I’m so excited for this release.
Good luck with the launch :)
