TweetAn Unfunny* Evening With Tim Minchin And His Piano
Warning: This is not a comedy gig. Attendance is not compulsory.
The Olivier Award-winning, Grammy and Tony Award nominated polytalent plays a handful of intimate, informal, solo dates in the UK this summer.
Tim will perform songs drawn from his 2020 studio album, Apart Together, from his musicals, Matilda and Groundhog Day, from his TV and film writing, and perhaps even some from his early songwriting days in the late 20th century.
The set list will be fluid, the chat unplanned, and the vibe informal. He may well get the audience to vote on some of the song choices.
This a rare chance for Minchin fans!
*the promoter can’t guarantee the artist will not inadvertently amuse.

Thank you for playing “Feel Like Going Home” last night. Following it by “Aeroplane” was quite poignant for me, as “home” is more a time that I can no longer visit than a place. Xx

Thank you for being perfect tonight. And showing us you watching you play rather than perform gave me goosebumps. Having just you and your piano to ourselves rather than sharing you with other (wonderful) musicians kinda feels like we’ve come full circle and arrived back at the beginning.
Feel like going home was the song I would have requested had you asked. I loved hearing it live.
I don’t know if you ever read the comments anymore, but tonight was something I didn’t know I needed. Thank you xx

I know you love your family and miss them terribly, but please could you do some extra gigs so I can come and see you again? I think you are fab and too many other people seem to think so too!

Get ye tae Scotland, laddie. The NHS won’t loosen its grip on my uniform collar, nor extend its unwilling coffers further into my bank account to permit me to travel to Londunium. Damnation!!!
Anya on 25th of May 2023

So wish you’d perform in Ontario, Canada. We’re nicer than Americans, you might really like Canada.
Robyn Ray on 22nd of May 2023
@Tristan good for you keep it up thinking for yourself can be hard and IMO Tim Minchin is the perfect muse. I do wish he was coming to the US. Although I have family outside Kondon maybe I can swing a trip.
All u lucky people getting to see him maybe they will film a version?
Keep hope alive !
Muzz on 22nd of May 2023
When are the tickets on sale?
Lynn on 22nd of May 2023
Am jealous of all of the sexy fruitcakes who get to attend these four shows. I know Tim doesn’t believe in magic, but I’m thinking these will still be magical.

I have been a big fan of Tim since I was 10 years old. Some might day that is too young to listen to him, but my family was shoving religion down my proverbial throat so I was already used to doing things that shouldn’t be done at that age. Tim gave me another option. Express my true feelings and to not fall into the same patterns of most religious individuals. All of this is to say I live in America. Specifically Tucson Arizona for the time being. I would die for the chance to see one of my role models live and in person. Any chance you can make it to US of A for a quick tour?

I would like to be selfish and ask for you to add Perth to the plan for this “unfunny” night of song and stuff. Please?
Deb Richards on 22nd of May 2023
Is Tim coming to Melbourne at any stage in the near future?
