There have been quite a few requests from you Americans for Tim to come to Chicago, which would make today your lucky day!

Tim has been confirmed as part of the line up of this year’s Just for Laughs festival in Chicago! He’ll be playing a huge five nights at the Lincoln Hall between 14th and 18th June, with each show starting at 10pm. This will be the longest run of shows Tim has done in America apart from his off-broadway run in New York in early 2008, just in case you’re the type of person who likes useless trivia.

The shows look to go on sale on Saturday at 10am via eTix on the venue’s website.

I won’t add any more razzle dazzle or all that jazz, but suffice to say, you’ll definitely be wanting to getting your bear paws on these tickets! (… sorry)

UPDATE: We’ve just heard there’s an Internet pre-sale, Friday April 1st at 10am for one day only. You can access this advance ticketing goodness via the Just For Laughs, Chicago website here and the password is “laughs”.

Re: Pre-sale problems: In case you have not seen the comments by Linzy or me here or on Facebook – they are aware of the problem and are working on fixing it. We will let you know as soon as we hear anything helpful. Sx

They seem to be on sale here ok.
Some are finding ‘laughs’ works, others ‘witty’. We suggest you try both.

Just got in the door from seeing Tim in Chicago tonight. He was absolutely in top form and had us all eating out of his hands. What an amazing voice and what a pianist! We met three Minchin fans who were wearing custom tee shirts about G*ngers and Popes. Turns out they had driven 8 hours from Missouri in a teeny Ford Focus just to see Tim tonight. Another couple we met were on holiday from the U.K. and had just seen him with a full orchestra in Albert Hall. Best of all, he actually came out afterwards and generously took photos and met some of us. My husband and I are still floating on air — he was so kind to geeky old us :) Thanks Tim, you are Awesome!

Thanks Calvin for the heads up on etix. Must say they seem to have tickets for sale for tonight – 6/15 (when we’re going) for $15 and still have tickets for Friday for $25. Not sure why everything was “sold out” when we went to buy thru the scalper at $125 each but since we paid the big bucks for this, we’ll just have to go and laugh twice as loud! Cheers!

I just noticed the comments on here saying that all the shows are sold out (and have been that way for some time)… however etix are still selling tickets and I just purchased two. Either I just got ripped off by them or they have a stock of tickets they’re not telling anyone about.

OMG! Just found out about this today (4/28). Frantic searches online showed every show was sold out. So I desperately got online with a ticket scalper who may have two tickets for $120 each. What a testament to Tim that we’d be relieved to get the darned things even for that price! Yes, Tim is Totally worth it! Husband and I look at it this way; cheaper than flying to NY (which is what we were thinking we’d have to do). Sadly, our friends in Michigan who turned us on to Tim can’t afford those prices right now. Great thing is that it’s a good opportunity for peeps in the MW to become Tim Fans and that should bring him back! We’ve ended up purchasing his cds, etc. through Australia (and then having to transcode the dvds so we can watch them here in Chi-town on a Region 1 player). My husband was saying “wouldn’t it be great if Tim came to America and then got to be on Saturday Night Live” — that would sure bring him many more deserving fans! Just a wish but hope it all works out for him!

I was able to get my tickets for Friday and Saturday pretty easily. Thought it was at 10am Central, but it didn’t work til almost 11. Hope all the rest of you can get tix if you’re having issues! Excited to come back to Chicago for this! :D

I got Wednesday to work with witty. I closed my browser, went to the etix website, searched for Tim, picked Wednesday and purchased without a problem this time. I wonder if the link on the update to this post is a cached session…

I finally got it to work by clearing out my shopping cart and starting all over again (and refreshing the window). I also used ‘witty’ instead of ‘laughs’ and it worked!

Etix also says that if you’re still trying to buy online, you need to refresh your browser. You’re probably stuck on a cached page.

can’t get tickets for thursday no subscription code. Frustration

what about wednesday?

I’m on the phone with etx: 1-800-514-ETIX, press 2. They say that Jam Productions screwed the pooch for the online sale, so they’re selling me the tickets on the phone.

Tuesday – works with “witty”
Thursday – “No Subscription Found”
Friday – works with “witty”
Saturday – “Not enough tickets available at that price code.”

i finally got my purchase to go through for friday’s show ‘witty’.

i am so excited, for this.

I’m also getting the subscription code error for Wednesday night. Tried witty, Witty, laughs.

New error message – not enough tickets available at that price code.

i put in witty and it is saying no subscription code…i have no idea what i am doing wrong

I just got mine for Saturday night and ‘witty’ worked just fine. YEEEEE!

Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows are not for pre-sale.

Oh, this is driving me crazy. “Witty” isn’t working for the membership code for me. Neither does “laughs”. Perhaps because I’m buying Wednesday night instead of Tuesday?

Sheesh. Ideas?

Witty… both to get in AND as the “purchase code” on the payment page.

I got mine!! YES!!

I was able to buy tickets for Tuesday by entering “witty” as the member code (not the password).

When I tried to buy for other nights, it says Off Sale.

Got to purchase screen and they want a member code. Required. ??????

Looks like the Friday/Saturday shows aren’t getting prompts but the Tuesday show is.

I’m not even getting prompted for a password. I followed the link via this site. Is there a different URL people are using who are actually getting prompted? I have a different password that I’ve been given by etix via email. I’ll post it if someone gives me a working link.

For what it’s worth, I just called Etix. They don’t know why it isn’t working, but they can’t override because it’s a private presale, so they’re trying to contact the people in charge of the venue. She says keep refreshing.

In the meantime, I haven’t even found a password prompt. I used the link in Tim’s blog post, then clicked “buy tickets.” Is there another path that gets you to the password prompt?

I tried Angry(feet)… didn’t work.

Presale is not working. :( Won’t accept the password “laughs”…. any news?

Argh! Internet presale started 20 mins ago, and it’s still saying “off sale.” Haven’t been prompted for a password, and can’t find another link for buying presale tix. Anyone have any tips?

The advance sale may be an April fools day “joke”. Not working for me either. Is the 10AM supposed to be CT or Mountain or Pacific for some reason?

If you call the venue, they will allow teenagers. You just need to have a parent with you. I’m taking my teens. We are looking so forward to it! Oh, but the ticket presale (for April 1st) isn’t working. Is the pre-sale an April Fool’s Day joke?

Correction to my previous comment (if it goes through) Both the website for the venue and the presale site are showing the age limit as *18*+, not 21.

Not that it applies to me, but possibly to help out the age-impaired…

The presale site is saying 18+, while the venue page is saying 21+. Is there a definitive answer to that?
