Hi Tim, warmest congrats on "Matilda" opening on Broadway in 2013. Does that mean that Sydney can't be too far behind?? I have all my fingers and toes crossed. We have already listened to the CD over and over, but now really need to SEE the performance. That would be magical - and fitting too as you are, after all, an Australian with a huge number of fans down under. xx

Hey Tim, im hoping out of your hundreds of comments above, i hope you have the time to read this one... My sister introduced you to me a couple of years back, and since then i have always wanted to see you perform live. When we heard you were doing a couple of concerts in Melbourne, we went on the net straight away and to our dismay, they were all sold out. We were gutted. Can't wait till you come down under again!(hopefully itl be soon!!!)

I've got a copy of 'Ready For This' which I stick on on a regular basis and saw you at 'Laugh or the Polar Bear Gets It' last year but first became a fan when you performed '5 Poofs and 2 Pianos' on Jonathan Ross. Me and my mate are always trying to see when you're close to us next and I share a lot of your views on religion. I always quote 'Prejudice' when someone says anything derogitary about my hair. You are one of my all time great comedians and can't wait for the next opportunity to see you. Please say you're coming to Kent anytime soon!!

Hi Tim- I love all your work! So much so that I'm actually using your beat poem 'Storm' as a performance piece for my HSC (Yr 12 Higher School Ceritifcate) individual project! Only bad thing is that I have to cut some bits out, because my peice is only allowed to go on for 6-8 minutes... a fact that I was horrified by but oh well I suppose :( Also, your 2011 show in Sydney was AMAZING :) Thanks so much! xx

Hey Tim, I realise now that I haven'y seen you live since 2009. However my brother keeps me up to date on everything your up too. Congratulations with Matilda i cant tell you how excited i was seeing the posters up when i visited london. Hope all is well as last time i saw you your daughter was ill, I hope she is feeling much better now and that you are all well.

Warmest Congratulations, Tim, for your "What's On Stage" awards! I dragged myself up in the wee hours (in Australia) to watch the live stream and managed to sit through it all until you came on. It was wonderful to see you win the "London Newcomer" award, although I hope that doesn't mean you will forget that you are, at the heart of it, an Australian. We're so glad that you have received justified acclamation for "Matilda" and hope it made up for the jet lag!!

Tim, thank you, thank you, thank you!! Went to the show in Adelaide on the 15th of February, simply amazing! There aren't too many musicians, let alone comedians who can work with an orchestra to create a show as entertaining and mind-blowing as you did. As much as I love the orchestra show, I would give my piano, one of my legs and my wife (does anyone have a piano and a wife I can borrow?) to see your smaller, more intimate shows. Any chance you will ever tour without an orchestra again? Once again, thank you for such and amazing night and on behalf of Adelaide, we forgive you for breaking our chair.

So very excited! My wonderful Husband has just bought me a ticket to see you at the Larmer Tree Festival in July. Last saw you live at the MEN Arena in Dec 2010 when the snow dumped down on us! You are totally amazing and I love all of your work. Keep it up and I can't wait to see you in July xx

Hi Tim, I went to see Matilda with my girlfriend last weekend (i got the tickets for chrismas but deliberately booked her birthday) and we both absolutely loved it. We both hope you feel inspired to create more truly original musicals in the future but obviously (in the most complimentary way) don't give up the solo stuff. We friggin love you're material and can't wait for your nxt project, whatever that may be. Would love to see/hear you collaborate with Bill Bailey too. Take it easy and hope to catch you on tour soon.

Hope that piano stool/chair wasn't too expensive... Great to see this show with the orchestra again, especially if it was for the last time last night. Had not heard the ASO before (they were great although the sound was a bit unbalanced between them and your piano - maybe it was just our seats?), saw it in Sydney last year with SSO. Looking forward to seeing Matilda in the UK later this year. If/when you come back again, please visit Canberra. We don't bite... not very hard, anyway...

Tim, I just want to say that your songs are really helpful when I'm practising listening (I'm going to take a very important international english language exam this year), and is awesome to notice how much you can learn with someone's music and jokes. The first song I heard was "If you really loved me" on youtube, and then I couldn't stop listening the others. I tried to buy the DVD of you and the heritage orchestra, but saddly it's not available for Perú (where I'm from). Anyway, I just want to say THANK YOU for all the funny moments you gave me with your AWESOME music and I really hope someday I could go to one of your shows. :D PS.sorry for the grammar, spelling, etc mistakes.
Sam 2 on Monday, 13 February 2012
Hi Lanie, we went to Tim's show in Sydney - saw it last year at the Sydney Opera House too. It was advertised everywhere, at every possible opportunity that it was a reprise of the same show. I once read that Tim's orchestra show was like a musical - just that he was the only person in it. So it was like seeing a musical twice - which we gladly did and were only sorry we didn't have tickets for TWO nights. We have the DVD too. The effort for Tim to write produce a show of that magnitude must be super human - let alone to perform it. There is no one else who does this. And of course there are all his other commitments PLUS his huge involvement in 'Matilda the Musical'. So it simply would not have been possible for him to write another show in that short space of time. This latest round of shows was for all those people who wanted to see it again and for those who missed out last time because it sold out so quickly. Tim has left his family and a busy, busy schedule at home in in London. I personally know 15 people who managed to see Tim for the first time this time because he gave us the opportunity to see the performance again. And we are SO GLAD he did - it was brilliant. I think the problem is that Tim is so talented that some people end up expecting the impossible from him. Those songs are so complex that each is a masterpiece - it must be a huge effort to write each one, let alone perform them to his high standard. And we got to see a WHOLE show of them. Magic!!!!
Lanie on Monday, 13 February 2012
Hi Tim, I saw one one of your shows on I think the ABC last year and totally feel in love with what you do and bought your album. When I saw you had tickets for Perth this year I thought "definitely need to get those' so I did. I went to your Perth show on fri Feb 10 and after while I realised that the show was very similar to the one you bought here last year. At first I thought well maybe he will get to some new stuff soon....waiting.....waiting.....waiting.......still waiting.....I do love your stuff but I was very disappointed that you did exactly the same songs/jokes as your previous show last year. I know that you have some great songs that need to be replayed, but seriously come on, don't call your show 'round two' when its really still really just 'round one'. I was very very very disappointed that there was no new material. Part of your attraction is the shock, what is going to do next?? factor which you just didn't have in this show. Was I the only person the noticed this was the same show???
Annie Leong on Monday, 13 February 2012
Tim ! I've missed out on tickets to your Melbourne shows. Will you be releasing any more tickets or shows in Melbourne ? Would be tickled pink (toddler son responsible for my regression into kiddie speak) , if you could / would / did. Happy thoughts to you & thanks. Annie
David Burn on Monday, 13 February 2012
Hi Tim. Two things: Firstly, I have now seen your latest show three times - amazing stuff! The first time was when the ABC broadcast the TM vs Sydney Symphony Orchestra late last year. I was just blown away, and went out the next day to buy the DVD of this show so I could watch it again and again. Instead, the offering on sale was the Albert Hall show with the Heritage Orchestra. Now don't get me wrong - still a great show. But there was something special about your raport with the SSO and the Sydney audience, and if you can only be selling one DVD of the show, I think your marketing people may have picked the wrong one. Do you think the market could stand two versions of the same show? I realise it is just my opinion, but I know which one I would buy next time, particularly as a gift for family. Secondly, I was fortunate enough to see your show live at Challenge Stadium last night. Brilliant again, although it would have been nice to have heard the full "I'm in a cage" as well as "White Wine in the Sun". Not to worry - it was still fantastic. What I really want to say, however, is that I was completely mesmerised by your piano play. And the point here is that I had favourable seating and so had a direct line of sight to the piano. While I was totally enthralled, I realised that the people in the seats behind the piano would not have been able to see your keyboard wizardry, and would have missed out on that very special dimension to your show. Yes, you did have a camera that focused there occasionally, projecting the image on the overhead screen, but the camera's line of sight was partially obscured by the frame. As a result, those who had to rely on the screen image to see your skills would have only had a partial experience. When you arrange for the stage setup in future shows, do you think you can organise for this camera to be positioned better? I just marvelled at your technique, speed and precision, and I know everyone else would as well - if only they could see it clearly.

Hello Tim, (That's assuming you will hopefully read this) I went to see Matilda The Musical yeserday afternoon with my father. I have to tell you that it was absolutely fantastic. The best musical I have ever seen. The stage setting was incredible, the atmosphere of the intimate theatre, each tiny detail (I loved the letter blocks each carefully placed to spell words on the outside, and there was an obviously placed 't' next to an 'm', which I assumed had been so placed to signify your important. Each character was perfectly suited, and very talented. I particularly thought Matilda's (Sophia Kiely) singing voice was incredible. Also, I thought that Bruce Bogtrotter (Zachary Harris) was fantastic. Of course each character was brilliant, oh, also Pual Kaye, he was absolutely wonderful too. Although I am only 14, I must have looked a little old to be seeing it. But the real reason my father took me as a Christmas present, was because you played a part in the musical. I was suprised to be surrounded by a real range of age groups - but it really suited all. However, Tim, I must congratulate you personally, I thought that your compositions were so perfect for the Musical. Each song really suited the darkness of Dahl's writing. I think you did an excellent job, making each moment feel more significant through the use of perfect music choices, with no cheesy key changes. The lyrics were so sweet, I absolutely fell in love with 'When I Grow Up' ; I thought the lyrics clearly showed to be yours, but were so apt for the situation. Each song was clever, as is all your work. I really hope you do more musicals and things, but keep doing the comedy - I love it so much. You are a real inspiration and I hope you are very proud for Matilda's success. It is a masterpeice of a musical. Congratulations again. Love you! :D

I find myself drifting into another phase of my Tim-diction. Every few months I tend to procrastinate all important things, sit my butt down in front of YouTube, and travel through the related videos of Tim Minchin. I've been raised in a Catholic home and am studying Computer Science at Dalhousie now. There's so much in my mind that conflicts with religion, and your music is a wonderfully witty way of expressing those conflicts. Thank you Tim, for daring to say what a lot of us feel but simply don't have to gonads to sing in front of a crowded stadium.. with our mums watching.

Tim, saw your show in Perth last night - absolutely great - took my mum who loved it too. Bit puzzled as to how most of audience could sit like statues when you and WASO were performing with such energy, passion and just down-right funkiness!? And people who leave early should be caught and shot (pref publicly as light entertainment just before the encore). Anyway, not gonna drone on about how what you do 'touches me' - get it, love it, dont you ever stop. By the way, part sad / part glad you didnt finish with the Christmas song - always makes me cry. And yes beauty did sneak on more than one occasion onto your stage - you must be slipping mister.

Hi Tim, My name is Sophie Foster; I am 15 years old and went to your show on the 3rd of February. After the show I was hoping to say all this to you in person, but I read your note on the website and I didn’t want to slow you down. All I really want to say is thank you. Thanks for beautifully expressing things that I feel but can’t put into words. Listening to your stuff is weirdly therapeutic when I am frustrated at a lot of stuff around me. I want to say thankyou for never letting all people who go through life fearing anything that challenges them and their thinking change you or put you off. As a young person looking up to you I really appreciate your integrity, honesty and hard work. Your music and comedy is untouchable and anyone who tries to tear your work down is either afraid or has anal cancer of the brain (butt heads!). I went to the concert with two of my friends, my parents and one of their dads; we were sitting at the very back of the mezzanine, in the middle. I like to think I have done some cool things, but going to your concert was probably one of the best nights of my life. Next time you are in Sydney I would love to meet you and say hi but I understand that you are busy and don’t have time for everyone. I know it sounds horrendously clichéd but you seriously inspire me and if I grow up to be just half of the person I will be more than satisfied. Thankyou for giving me a smart yet human role model to look up to that doesn’t underestimate the intelligence of their audience. You are a star, I love you and if I ever meet you it will be one of the highlights of my life. Thankyou. P.S. Woody Allen Jesus was unbelievable. You really are so f**king rock and deserve better than that. Peter Fincham = Wanka. P.P.S. If one of Tim’s web fairies is reading this, could you please try and get this to him, you can’t even imagine what it would mean to me.

Happy Birthday Felix! I loved reading your post and I'm sure others will have too. I have just seen Tim at his Sydney concert and it was such a thrill - SIX of my friends went as well, and one of my colleagues tells me that she has been following him since he first began, playing in small rooms. We are very proud that Tim is an Australian and I find it touching that a teenager on the other side of the globe has had such pleasure watching him. If your family can buy you the Royal Albert Hall DVD with the Heritage Orchestra I'm sure you will just love it - it's fabulous. All the best!!

Ready for a dumb story that not only shows my obsession with you but also how kind of insane my family is? Well, here goes! I had been sick for a couple of days (horrid, horrid bug going around in NY) and, on my birthday, it finally cleared up (miraculously after I wasn't able to go to school! Haha! Wink wink!). So, I spent my birthday/first day not feeling like total crap youtubing you. And as an awesome birthday present (among a lot of Beatles parophernalia and albums) I recieved my very first Tim Minchin item. The 'Ready For This' CD and DVD. So, like the deranged family we are, we all sat down on our orange, leather sofa to a dinner of pizza and wings and a dessert of pie and ice cream and watched it together. You are an amazing, talented guy and you are very very smart, intelligent, and funny and you just seem like an all-around cool guy (sorry for sucking up, but I have to in the hopes of a remote possibility you will read even some of this). By the way, what are the chances of you ever coming to a rural part of New York (somewhere close to Sidney, NY, hint hint) and putting up with all of the brainless hecklers (which hopefully will be scarce)? There will also hopefully be one die-hard fan there (me!) if it's not too far/expensive! You are so smart and amazing and funny and you're my personal hero and I'm so glad you were a huge part on my fourteenth birthday!

I was at the Melbourne show last night too - had a great time! It was my 1st minchin. Only problem is that today I have the pope song going around and around my head, driving me mad! And although the meaning has nothing to do with my boss, it was even my inner background music while he was talking to me today. That's what you've done to me. One last thing, when I told my physio today that I saw you last night, he said he went to school with you (younger level) and was one of the choir boys when you sang "You Can't Always Get What You Want" years back. Of course - I guess everyone knows everyone in Perth. Thanks again for a brilliant night out! Come back soon, you talented bugger :-)

The Sydney concert on Saturday night was just amazing, Tim. Many thanks for a wonderful evening, which fully lived up to all expectations - and more. I am sure you would smile at our experience after the show. Walking out into the night air outside the theatre, all abuzz with the thrill of the show, my son and his friend were accosted by a woman, who asked: 'Would you like to invite Jesus into your life?'. My son, who had thought she wanted directions, nearly fell into the gutter. We laughed and laughed all the way to the station. Clearly this woman and her companions thought that members of the Tim Minchin audience were a group ripe for conversion! We hope you enjoy the rest of your tour - and please don't leave it too long before you are back again.

Australians, did you know that Tim was interviewed on breakfast radio at: http://blogs.abc.net.au/wa/2012/02/tim-minchin-on-breakfast.html (You can hear it on download). Dearest Tim, thanks so much for a great show last night in Sydney. You certainly gave your all, as you always do! We didn't mind one bit that we had seen it last year at the SOH, have the DVD and also a recording of the Sydney Symphony Concert. You are always engaging and brilliant and it's a real thrill to watch you live. We would never say that about any other performer and would never normally see the same concert twice. Now we're just sorry that we didn't buy tickets for tonight as well. Does that say something about us? No, don't think so - it just means that you are a 'one off'. We even laughed at all the jokes again - couldn't help ourselves!! You were exuberant and amazing - if you were feeling tired in any way, you certainly didn't show it. Maybe you really are 'Superman'! Much lovexx

Hi Tim I think you are amazing, have a brilliant mind and are obviously hilarious. Would also love you to bring Matilda to Sydney. Went to your concert in Sydney last night. Really enjoyed it, however I didn't realise that Round II meant pretty much a repeat of the 2011 show (down to the banter and facal expressions). Love the old favourites but really looking forward to seeing some new material.

I am so happy I "rediscovered" you. I first heard you last January on Conan but as I was at work at the time, I promptly forgot. Randomly found you again just recently and could kick myself for having the memory of tree bark. Your songs tickle me. I find you charming, and witty, and the perfect blend of intelligence and filth. I hope to one day see you on tour in the US, but until then a couple albums and copious YouTube videos will have to do. Thank you for sharing you mind with the masses. Odd to note: This is the second fan note I have ever written...the first was to Paul McCartney when I was 14.
