Dear Tim I'm in my 79th year so you know I went through Joni Mitchell. She wrote like she paints and we know there was more in that daub on her brush than ended up on the surface of the work. It is hidden. Relatable but still hidden. Canadians hide in fur and down. May I venture to reflect that a reason some of your audience are of years is because we are so tired and bored with the artifice and the hidden. You are whole heartedly and committedly not hidden. Believe me when I write that my flat is ankle deep in metaphorical lined paper balls. I feel so much. Bear with me for two more observations. 1. The first time I watched/heard the South Bank premier performance of SEEING YOU I wept. It was the expansive 'Seeing' from the music itself. I was exposed. I'm teary just trying to write this. 2. I've watched the Olivier Awards performance of HOPE over and over. When you hit that particle of anticipation "Hold on to your faith" - the Hadron Collider weeps with jealousy. I love sitting in an empty theatre feeling the 'was' or the 'will be'. I can imagine sitting up in the gallery watching your sound check and the lighting ques. Shivers for a rare privilege. Uh oh. That's three. Thank you, Carollyne x

Hello Tim I really enjoyed seeing you in Wellington recently. Your wordsmith skills are impressive and your perception inspiring. I loved your antics on stage and your rapport with the seven members of the band was heartening. Regards Elaine Barker (an Aussie who crossed the ditch to retire and reside in a cooler climate!)

Tim, I saw your show last night at the Palais and just want to say it thrilled me, moved me, delighted me in equal measure. The world is a better place for having you in it. Thank you and may you have many more than 6 musicals left. Annie

Hey Tim just saw your 2011 performance at the Royal Albert Hall. I hadn't heard you before but better late than never! You are an incredible talent! Do you ever come to the US? Definitely will look up more from you. Jill

Great work Tim! I'm an orchestral musician in Wellington, New Zealand. Do you have any ideas for a meet-the-orchestra kind of show? It could be a lot of fun. You know: an analog of cooperative society, with 90 people working together harmoniously for ART! But funny and incisive too. Just an idea.

Cathy and I loved your fri 19th wellington NZ show. Fucking brilliant. We loved everything but especially enjoyed your intro and performance of ‘fuck’ . It’s just what we need and should be piped over the speakers at those dreadful malls. Anyhow, congratulations on the supreme songwriting skills, musicianship, comedy , humanity and, of course, your seeking for truth. And by the way, your band rocked the house ! And also by the way, I didn’t see one person get their cell phones out !! Best wishes from Aotearoa New Zealand.

Qpac show 10th April...engaging, insightful, immensely hilarious, kooky, intelligent. I almost feel selfish for enjoying it so much. 'N yeah...let us share 'I'll take lonely tonight'. The evening was one I'll remember for a long time. Very clever performer

Dear Tim, I am the living proof of the butterfly effect :) You once had speech "Live to learn" and this speech really hit me. Even though I am rather in the age of the speaker than the audience :) There was 9 life lessons and even though I totally agree and try to follow most of them already, what really mattered was the 6th lesson. And because of that and ONLY because of that I took all of courage and went on being a teacher. Not permanently yet, but even these 2 days were challenge I thought I would never ever overcome. Thank you for that, thank you for this speech! I really think this is one of the most epic speeches I have ever heard :) Good luck in whatever you do or dream about! Eveli, Estonia

Hello Tim! Tim here, to say, man, you're an inspiration! Several weeks ago, my friend Jason sent me a link to a performance of Rock and Roll Nerd on YouTube. My life has been permanently improved ever since. I myself am a musician and composer, and yet somehow hadn't heard of you until then. My favorite song of yours is White Wine in the Sun. I cry tears of joy. What an amazing song.

Been following you for awhile now. Wanted to extend my heart out to you in regards to your stay in Cali. Hollyweird takes away the good stuff mostly. I particularly vibe well with your wit and ability to mesh the truths that lie in our sorrows and our achievements. It’s refreshing to know your craft is so well honed and the choices you make are utter perfection. I applaud you and wish like hell I could see you perform live someday! I may even go visit my crummy family that lives in Meeniyan when that dream comes true. Thanks for keeping it real...... means a lot. Cheers, Liz
